Visual Matrix Default Setting
When you allocate a room number on a reservation, the room numbers available will show for the chosen room type sorted by ascending numbers as below:
Quite often, when the rooms are sorted in ascending order the room numbers that show at the top of the list are most often chosen to be assigned.
This can result in uneven room use and rotation.
What if you could let Visual Matrix tell you which room to allocate to a reservation depending on when it was last used?
How To Enable The Feature
Go to Management > Property Settings > Parameters
On the right side, look for the Parameters section.
The drop-down will let you enable or disable the feature.
The number of days will set up how many days in the past it will check for the comparison.
For example, if you have a 3 in the number of days box it only looks at the last 3 days to determine how often each room has been used.
If you have 10, it calculates the least used over the last 10 days.
Application of the Feature
When this feature is enabled and when you are assigning a room to a reservation, you'll notice the rooms are now sorted with the rooms that have been least used at the top for you to select.
The rooms aren't in numerical order anymore but instead are sorted in a way that assists the hotel in even use across all of their rooms.
This can greatly reduce the need to remodel or replace items here and there and promote longer-lasting longevity to maximize revenue potential out of each room.
